MY STORY
I was born on the 22nd July 1982 and grew up in the small town of Blackwater in the South of England. Brought up in a musical family, I was surrounded by music from an early age and began playing drums when I was 11 years old.
After finishing school I decided that drums were all I wanted to do and signed up for the degree course at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Surrey. I spent my time there studying all aspects of drumming with Mike Sturgis (A-ha, Asia), Pete Riley (Republica) and Bill Bruford (Yes, King Crimson). After leaving the ACM, I landed my first professional gig in 2004 playing for Southampton-based rock band Howards Alias. After writing and recording the album beat heart, beat, for Household Name Records, we toured extensively throughout the UK.
After Howards Alias ended I packed up and moved to London to begin work on a new project called Dry the River. After playing many club shows throughout the London area Dry the River was lucky enough to sign to Sony RCA in the Autumn of 2010. Since that time Dry the River has released 2 albums, played over 500 shows and festivals in over 40 countries and appeared on the BBC, Channel 4 and MTV.
I have always tried to find time to better myself behind the kit and in 2014 began an eductational web series called Beat Loaf with fellow drummer and friend, Aaron Graham. This series was featured in the June 2014 edition of DRUMMER magazine and continues to grow it's profile.
I am a proud endorsee of DW drums, pedals and hardware and Vater drum sticks.
